Pet Care Policies
Service: Clients shall either book their service on our client booking service, Time To Pet, or call us to set up their booking. Client will receive an email confirmation of booking in both cases from Time To Pet.
A 9 Mile Pet Sitter will be at the client's home within 30 minutes (+/-) of the scheduled time. If there are ever unforeseen circumstances that might affect our travel, such as an accident on the road, we will message you and let you know we will be late.
You will always receive updates from us when we leave your home. Updates will include what we did with your pets such as refreshed the water, took them for walk or played in the yard, if they went doodle, etc... and will usually include a photo or two.

Meet and Greet: A free, 30 minute meet and greet is required to be booked prior to the first service. This allows your sitter to meet your pets and you as well as get in person instructions. You will have the opportunity to ask all of your questions as well. This service usually takes place within 1-2 weeks of the first service.
Drop-Ins: Your pet sitter will show up within 30 minutes of each scheduled arrival time (+/-). All drop-ins include refreshing water bowls, feeding (if required), play time and/or cuddle time, and a short walk if possible. All activities are weather permitting.
Dog Walking: Your dog walker will show up at your home within 30 minutes of each schedule walk time (+/-). Dog walk times start from the time I get to your house and end the moment we get back to your house. My theory on dog walking for my client’s is this is doggy time and we spend our time doing what the dog’s want to do. Whether that’s just sniffing around and we get a 1/4 mile or we get 2 miles with a real marathoner, that’s all fine. Sometimes I bring toys for dogs who like to mix playtime with walk time. And some dogs like to do half walks and half relax on a hill and get belly rubs. As long as the dog client is outside enjoying their time, we are happy too.
Walks are weather permitting, however just a little rain won’t stop us unless the client prefers their pet stay completely dry.
Cancelations: For services booked longer than 3 concurrent days, we require a 24-hour cancelation notice. For services booked over major holidays* I require a 72-hour cancelation notice. There is a $45 late cancelation fee for services booked over major holidays.
Weekly Recurring Clients: We require a 24-hour cancelation notice for weekly dog walk or drop-in clients. We understand that cancelations are going to happen. If it’s a snow day and everyone has to stay home or you are sick, cancel, absolutely. If it becomes a common thing, this takes away from MY time, and time I can use spending with other clients and my own pets and family. After 10 last-minute cancelations within a 3-month period we will start charging you 75% of your service fee each time you cancel without providing us a 24-hour notice.
Emergencies: If any emergency should happen under our care we will do our best to contact you first and then your alternate contact. If we cannot contact you or your alternate we will take your pet to get emergency care as quickly as possible, either with your preferred veterinarian or an emergency vet. You agree to reimburse 9 Mile Pet Sitters for all Veterinary care within 10 days unless it was the fault of the sitter.
Payments: 9 Mile Pet Sitters bills by invoice once a week on Friday for recurring sits or walks, and at the end of service for one-time or longer vacation sits. Payments are due within 3 days. Payments can be made by Venmo to @ninemilesitters or by credit card. A late fee of 15% will be added to invoices after 15 days of non-payment. If continued non-payment goes beyond 30 days we will discontinue service until payments are remitted to your account.
Photography: 9 Mile Pet Sitters is granted permission to use and share photos and videos of client’s pet(s) on social media, company website, and/or in advertising, providing there are no location identifiers or geo tags. You can opt out of this in your client profile.
